Golden Eaglets qaulified for final
In the early hours of today the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated the El Tri of Mexico. The Golden Eaglets fell behind through Magana in the 7th minute. In the 35th minute, Kelechi Nwakali equalised for Nigeria through a beautiful free-kick. The Golden Eaglets added the second goal in the 43th minutes through Okonkwo with a thunder strike. In the second half, Cortes equalised for Mexico. Ebere put the Eaglets ahead and later the highest goal scorer for the tournament with nine goals, Osimhen made it four from the penalty spot. The match was very though for the Eaglets. They faced a very fast Mexican side.
The Golden Eaglet will now face Mali who is the reigning African Champions on Sunday while Mexico and Belgium battle for third place.
Nigeria ranked 59
In the latest FIFA ranking, Nigeria fell seven places from 52nd to 59th in the world despite the win against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The performers of the Super Eagles have not been convincing after loosing to Congo in a friendly match. In the Africa continent, Sunday Oliseh's men are ranked 12th. This is their worst position.

Obafemi Martins called up by Sunday Oliseh
Obafemi Martins, who plays for Seattles Sounders has been recalled back to the Super Eagles. He was brought back to play against Swaziland by Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh in the World Cup qualifiers which takes place next month.
The striker who have not featured for the Eagles since 2013 was ignored by the former coach. Martins has improved his game in the MLS where he plays for Seattles Sounders. He has scored 15 goals for his club.

UEFA Champions League
The UEFA Champions League is back for this season. 32 teams are competing for this prestigious cup. The current champion Barcelona is in group E with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, BATE Borisov while the runner-up of last season, Juventus are in group D. See below for the full groups.

Germany 1-0 Nigeria ( FIFA U-20 )
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were this morning eliminated from the FIFA U-20 World Cup by the Germans at Christchurch in New Zealand. The U-20 German player Levin Oeztunali scored in the 19th minute of the first half. The goal was enough to sent the Nigeria side packing. The German players played good football compared to the Flying Eagles. The Germans will now meet Mali in the quarter-final.

Champions League final
This season's Champions League final come up this today at 7.45pm. The glamorous final is taking place at Berlin, Germany. At the final, Barcelona will have to tackle Juventus. The old ladies have Messi, Suarez and Neymar to handle. The reigning champions of the La Liga has won four Champions League in 1992, 2006, 2009 and 2011. While Juventus has won it in 1985 and 1996.
Serena Williams emerges victorious
The world number one in female tennis, Serena Williams has won the French open. She defeated Czech 13th seed Lucie Safarova 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-2. This victory means she has won 20 grand slam title. Congrats to her.

At the ongoing French open tournament, Andy Murray defeated Span's David Ferrer on clay. David was beaten 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 5-7 6-1. Andy Murray will now meet
Djokovic at semis.
Benitez succeeds Ancelotti
The former Napoli coach Raphael Benitez has been appointed as the new coach of Real Madrid for three years. He replaces Ancelotti who was sacked by the club for not winning a trophy this season. Benitez started his coaching career in Real Madrid as a junior coach. He coached Valencia where he won two league titles and went ahead to win champions league at his first season at Liverpool. He has returned to Santiago Bernabeu after 11 years.
